Why we started Create Live

We really wanted Create Live to help spark that change within the communities and to open up opportunity.

Within a week of our inspiration we set up the venue and time. The event was cast live on the internet and we had a packed house. Marketing firms, designers, artists and crafters all came out to co-work, collaborate, network and watch as the live artist (me) created an original piece before the camera. The local media was all over it. Over 200 visitors online and a few visiting out of state fans really inspired us to continue further. We had our second Create Live two weeks ago, again in the Phoenix area, which continued this collaborative community among creatives and techies.

We wanted to see the event go beyond Phoenix, Arizona and into the US. Artists could benefit from the exposure and the networking. Tech could enjoy something outside the norm. It seemed natural to us to make it a go.

So, here we are, only 3 days from our first Seattle Create Live, NYC Create Live coming in October and tentative dates in SF, LA, Detroit and St. Louis. The art and tech communities are coming together to share ideas, boost creativity and build connections with each other.

We hope that in the midst of this, the awareness of art’s symbiotic relationship with tech and the possibilities within both industries will open up.

Successful first Create Live event!

createlive_logo-1The first Create Live event was a major success! The awesome people at Liberty Market sponsored the venue and we streamed the live painting in HD on Ustream.tv. (you can watch the archive of the show here!) We had a huge positive response, as the place was packed and over 200 viewers had watched the show online! I even had some fans come in from Texas to see the event! The concept was birthed out of a conversation between me and Brent Spore of iBoughtaMac.com.

We wanted to put something together that featured artists and brought together creatives to collaborate, educate, and network all the while connecting the art community to the tech/social media scene.

We are expecting the event to spread out to other cities nationwide, and plans are already in effect for the next event here in Phoenix featuring other artists and creatives that are mega talented and deserve exposure. AZ Central showed up to the event, and already has an article sharing more about what Create Live is all about!

Create Live AZ This Thursday

Thursday, July 2nd @ 2pm (MST)/5pm (EST) I will be doing a LIVE painting demo at Liberty Market, which will be in conjunction with host: Brent Spore of iboughtamac.com and Starving Designer, who will be doing demo work on NatashasArtCandy.com with designers who come out. Izzy Video will be streaming the show LIVE in HD!

This will be the first event of it’s kind featuring artists and creatives working in a setting where we can share our work with others live, in person and through social media technology available today.

Create Live AZ is your chance to get to know some of the creatives in Arizona. A cool location, great people, creative energy and lots of awesome! Tune in to our next live event and watch, call in, or if you’re near, stop by and join in on the fun. See you there!”
